Sparrowhawk

Thought I saw something as I was hanging out the washing - there was a pair of birds flying over quite high up. A bit later all the small birds disappeared and the Jackdaws were in a panic, flocking together. Next thing I see a female Sparrowhawk fly into the tree on the other side of the lane. It took off after a few minutes when it saw my cat heading in that direction, although he hadn't spotted it!

I Can Have Both

And here's proof that you can have a cat and birds in your garden! He's dashing past under the feeder, whilst goldie looks up and then goes on eating.

I've been experimenting trying to capture some birds in movement with various results...
I think this blue tit is quite funny. Exit stage left.

This little charmer keeps coming back, it's turning into quite a regular.

Return of the Coal Tit

Been really busy lately with not much time for birdwatching but the sparrows seem to be coming back and getting used to the newer feeders. They would only use the old seed feeder before and were reluctant to try anything new.

Delighted to see the Coal Tit again after my first ever sighting a couple of weeks ago.
Nice pic with a female chaffinch. I like the way she has one foot on the perch and one on the edge of the tray.
